Dubai, UAE: January 11, 2018 – BASE is fast becoming the Middle East’s home of house music after
the launch of GRND CTRL last month, featuring world renowned techno, deep house, and electronic
DJs every Thursday night. The UAE’s top nightlife venue has now partnered with internationally
acclaimed dance music festival The BPM Festival, which over the last decade has welcomed
hundreds of thousands of dance music fans and top globally renowned artists to the Mexican
beaches and Portuguese sands to celebrate electronic music. BASE will host a monthly residency
over the next three months in partnership with The BPM Festival, bringing some of the world’s best
DJs to Dubai in February, March and April.
Established in 2008, The BPM Festival has brought together the best DJs from across the world to
create one of the most popular festivals in the industry. Since its inception, The BPM Festival has
grown into a global gathering with over 400 DJs, and more than 80 events over the course of the
ten-day festival, which was held in Playa del Carmen in Mexico before expanding to Portimão,
Portugal in September 2017 and a one-day edition to be held at Warung Beach Club, Brazil in
January 2018.
February 1 – Stacey Pullen & Jesse Calosso
The first event of the partnership will see techno heavyweight Stacey Pullen and Jesse Calosso take
to the BASE stage on Thursday February 1. An innovator of the second wave of Detroit techno,
Stacey Pullen grew up under the mentorship of legends like Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin
Saunderson. Considered one of the most in demand DJs of the underground, the producer, DJ and
label head Stacey Pullen is a regular on Marco Carola’s Music On which included him on the lineup
for the epic two day 2017 closing party at Amnesia in Ibiza. A longtime affiliate of The BPM Festival,
Stacey Pullen has played the renowned festival every year since its inception in 2008, making him
the perfect artist to headline the festival’s debut in the Middle East at Dubai’s BASE on February 1.
Growing up alongside The Martinez Brothers and later becoming their tour manager, producer and
DJ Jesse Calosso is without a doubt one of the most exciting artists to come out of New York in
recent years. His distinctive sound which “all goes back to disco” has propelled him to the forefront
of the house scene earning him coveted slots at The BPM Festival 2017 (Mexico and Portugal), New
York’s Output and Circoloco at DC10 Ibiza playing alongside the likes of Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler,

Jackmaster and The Martinez Brothers. On February 1, Jesse Calosso will play alongside Detroit
legend Stacey Pullen at BASE’s 2,000 capacity venue.
March 8 – Carlo Lio B2B Nathan Barato (B2B)
It’s not often your DJ heroes Carl Cox, Dubfire, Loco Dice and Marco Carola request you to mix their
very music that inspired you in the first place, but that’s exactly what happened to Carlo Lio,
shooting him to worldwide recognition as a mixing maestro. With a unique signature style driven by
a relentless, hypnotic, techno groove, Carlo Lio has gained international support for his ‘rawthentic’
cosmic sounds. A long time staple artist of The BPM Festival, the Toronto native has also graced the
decks at Digital Dreams (Canada), Audiogate (Germany), Balaton Sound (Hungary), Barrakud
(Croatia), Les Plages Electroniques (France) and Music On (Ibiza), and on March 8 will play back-to-
back with his long time friend and Rawthentic Label partner, Nathan Barato at BASE.
Another mainstay of The BPM Festival, Nathan Barato is amongst the most playable and prolific
producers in dance music. In other words, he’s not just a DJ that plays all the big parties and music
festivals, but he’s also the guy that everyone else is spinning too. From festivals like The BPM Festival
Portugal, Ultra Miami, 'We Are' in London to venues like Amnesia and DC10 Ibiza, Warung in Brazil,
Warehouse Project Manchester and Fabric London, Barato has solidified his place in house history.
Both Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato will take the stage at BASE for a special back-to- back performance
on March 8.
April 5 – Rony Seikaly
Rony Seikaly, aka the ‘Spin Doctor’, started his a career as an NBA pro, before finding his second
calling as an international DJ. What once was a passionate hobby turned into something much more
after house music legend Erick Morillo and Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs heard Seikaly play one night. Soon
after, the longtime lover of house was gracing the stage of some of the world’s top clubs, including
Amnesia in Ibiza. In recent years he has limited his DJ performances, opting instead to mix at his
home studio. Seikaly will make a special rare appearance at the final residency date for The BPM
Festival at BASE on April 5.
