CHARITY MARKET AT SHERATON ABU DHABI RAISES AED 23.500 FOR UNICEF
The charity flea market held recently at Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort proved to be another success
story raising AED 23.500 for the hotel’s charity fund for UNICEF. The event showcased 90 private exhibitors
selling pre-loved items from their homes and welcomed hundreds of visitors looking for the best bargains.
Funds collected from the sale of the exhibitor tables will support UNICEF’s WASH projects providing clean
drinking water and proper sanitation facilities for children and their families across Africa and the Middle East.
This year UNICEF and Sheraton Abu Dhabi’s parent company, Starwood Hotels & Resorts are celebrating 20
years of partnership. Since 1995, Starwood have supported UNICEF projects in more than 40 countries across
the world with $30 million of funds raised. UNICEF works in more than 100 countries around the world to
improve water supplies and sanitation facilities in schools and communities, and to promote safe hygiene
practices.
Yves Tarabout, who is Acting General Manager of the hotel, is delighted by the event’s success. “We were
thrilled to be running our last charity market in aid of UNICEF. Knowing that the money we raised will be used to
improve the lives of vulnerable children throughout Africa and the Middle East, is tremendously rewarding. I
would like to thank all our exhibitors – many of them returning to us for years – for their continued support and
contribution to this very worthy cause. I am also very proud of my associates who donated their free time to
ensure that the charity bazaar is a fun day out for our visitors.”
Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel will host the next charity flea market on Saturday 5th of December 2015 in
Arzanah Ballroom. The flea market opens at 9am and ends at 2pm in the afternoon. Visitors can enter free of
charge. Exhibitor tables are available for AED 285 each. Furthermore, if you pay your table by the 8th of
