Tell us a bit about yourself
I am in my eternal pursuit of revealing out the mysteries & ambiguities of the fascinating realm of colors. I am Nizar Alsaleh (Urus Wildking) I am an independent fusion artist of Avant Grade, Cubism and abstract, also I am graphic artist, musician, music composer and a poet. And I really can’t tell what people call me but I guess they call me “DREAMER”.
What is your favorite style and do you incorporate it with your artwork?
My favorite styles are : Avant Grade , Cubism , abstract , Pop art ,Impressionism , Post impressionism
I believe my style is a unique fusion of Avant Grade, Cubism, abstract and Pop art with ethnic & tribal element with rebellious emphasize of individuality, love and absolute freedom.
How did your artistic journey begin?
Colors were always a fascinating mystery to me, a whole world with magnificent creations, I always wondered where colors came from. How they do look so impressive like that? Beyond reason and comprehension. I started painting early as a five years old child using pencils, charcoals crayons, pastels and water colors.
At nine years old I participated in several collective school art exhibitions and art projects, then my talent and painting skills started to develop and polish with the help and guidance from my father who was an art teacher back then.
With more self-reading and studying of different art schools and painting methods and approaches I started to figure out my artistic identity and became more comfortable with my tools at the age of 15
Later on more serious art projects and paintings were made including several collective art exhibitions in Syria and Aleppo University from 1992 till 1998
Between 1994 and 1995 I was introduced to Graphic arts using Computer programs like Adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw and other graphic software which I picked it up really easily and very quickly and helped to enhance and develop my skills
I established my own painting & graphic arts studio, and I worked as independent freelance Painter and Graphic artist from 1997 till mid of 2002 then I decided to move to live in United Arab Emirate to pursuit and enrich my individual and artistic experience.
Do you have any advice you could give any budding artists out there?
Be yourself, paint for yourself and always be genuine.
If you could have any artist from any time line draw you, would you choose and why?
Amedeo Modigliani, I like and appreciate his painting technique, I find his style expressive, harmonious, curvilinear compositions, closer to the sinuous lines. As I find it very unique and unorthodox of painting portraits especially during the early twenty century. Modigliani’s portraits possess an archetypal quality that sets them apart from the art of his contemporaries. They both draw on tradition and contest it.
